about

In 1956, no musician was as central to to the underground Pocket-core scene as August O'Mahoney. Crafted in the damp underground coffee houses of Dublin, the textures were minimal, the instrumentation was crude - consisting of little more than O'Mahoney's expressive "Pocket Piano" and a hi hat - and the rules were simple: play in tune, mostly, and don't knock over the hi hat because that's old Grian Duffy's hi hat and the mad fooker gets pissed when you knock over his fooking hi hat!
